I saw this movie over the weekend..., (yeah, I know... ahead of the curve as usual) and the second it began to flash up on the screen I hated it. It was just too... well... GRATUITOUS... in every sense; violence, sex, misogeny, sadism, etc... which is sort of the point. But let's face it, I'm not the prime demographic for this movie. Midway through however I began to let myself get involved in the story and the style and although I didn't WANT to like it, by the end it had sort of won me over and when we were walking out I thought "well that wasn't so bad" which is sort of high praise considering how I had loathed it at the beginning.
Here we are 3 days later now and the movie has sort of settled into my brain on the positive side so I can say that it merits a thumbs up, but there's something about it that I just can't shake. For some reason, seeing Carla Gugino's surprisingly pendulous boobs really freaked me out. I mean, she's the MOM from Spy Kids!... and the image of her boobs are stuck in my head! BOOBS in MY HEAD!!!!! PENDULOUS ONES!!!! ARGHGHGHGHGHGHHHHHHHH!!!!!
