Haven't felt a good post brewing lately but I'll try to come up with something tomorrow. Til then, here's some recommendations.
LISTEN TO: Brendan Benson's album "The Alternative To Love" - The first track (Spit It Out) is awesome.
GO SEE: Werner Herzog's "Grizzly Man" - probably the darkest comedic documentary I've ever seen. I was constantly shaking my head in disbelief.
Jim Jarmusch's "Broken Flowers" - Yeah, Bill Murray plays it almost sloth-like, but it works.
READ: Bill Bryson's "The Lost Continent" or "I'm a Stranger Here Myself" or "A Walk in the Woods" or "A Short History of Nearly Everything".
WATCH: ABC's "Brat Camp" - Only two weeks left. Can Frank learn to just lighten up? Will Derek realize that he can be a responsible person? Will Isiah torch the entire campsite? These next two episodes are guaranteed to be weepy.
CHECK OUT: The BBC's twisted comedy "Little Britain - Season 1" on DVD as well as Judd (creator of "Freaks and Geeks") Apatow's second brilliant but short-lived t.v. series "Undeclared". If you've not seen Freaks and Geeks... well... best... t.v. show... ever. Rent 'em all on Netflix.
i just listened to "notes on a small island" as well as "neither here nor there" and found them both totally boring. NHNT was weirdly sexual as well. Oh well, his other stuff is good. what do you think?

Ok... those two really aren't the cream of the crop... and I can't imagine that listening to either of them would be the way to go, (but I read aloud choice sections of NHNT while in Cyprus with friends during long drives and we laughed our asses off). I hereby amend the post to my favorites of Bryson.
