Home for the Holidays

For some reason my mother and I are getting on each other's nerves more than usual this year. Maybe it's because I was going to bring my boyfriend back for Thanksgiving (even though that didn't pan out) and she's on edge about my relationship... or maybe I'm irked because I'm the uncle that gets to sleep on the couch while my brother and his wife get a bedroom and my niece and nephew get the other one. (If I bring Steve, maybe that would qualify us.) Don't mean to gripe but I'm going on few hours sleep over the past couple of days and a stiff back. I'm also practically daring someone to bring up California's Prop 8. I just need to relax a little I think. SO.... Just to get us all in the Christmas mood... Single ladies rundown

Here's the real thing : Then a dancer guy named Shane Mercado learned the dance moves and did his own version in his bedroom which he posted on YouTube: Then he got invited onto the Bonnie Hunt Show to do the dance in front of a green screen: THEN, Beyonce poked fun at the situation on SNL with Justin Timberlake. (Here's a few seconds of it here. The full skit was pulled due to "music clearance issues".) And now... to illustrate exactly what going viral entails, I present these two variations: and fittingly this bit from The Ed Sullivan Show with Gwen Verdon performing choreography by Bob Fosse which was the inspiration for Beyonce's moves.
